Celano is a commune and a town located in the Province of L'Aquila, central Italy around 120 km east of Rome by train. The city develops on the crest of a hill in the region of Marsica underneath the mountain range of Sirente. Later on the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the city suffered from the intrusions of Lombards.
