Michalovce is a town in the Košice district in eastern Slovakia. It is situated on the Laborec River and the location is known to have been inhabited since Neolithic times. These days Michalovce is home to a number of grand buildings that show off a number of building styles. The Zemplin Muesum is a Baroque-Classic Castle that was once the family seat of the Sztáray family, but it now houses the history of the Zemplin region.

The Gothic St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Neo-Byzantine Conventual Cathedral of the Bringing Down of Holy Spirit are also great examples of their architecture style.
