Črnomelj is an ancient town in the south eastern area of Slovenia. It lies on the banks of the Lahinja and also the Dobličaca rivers. The city dates back to Prehistoric times and so is often called 'a city above a city’. Much of the archaeology that has been carried out has led to preserved remains being incorporated into a visitor attraction so that they can be viewed through a glass floor.

If you are interested in the arts and crafts of the region you can also visit Maleričeva House where pieces of art and craft are both exhibited and sold. If you want to get out into the beautiful countryside surrounding Črnomelj you can hire a car through VIP cars. You can then make the most of some spectacular hiking trails and follow up a long walk with some local Bela krajina wine that is served at the Črnomelj Wine Cellar.
