Alicante Railway Station is the main train station located in the city of Alicante. Located in the heart of the city, this railway station is used by the Renfe high speed and long distance trains. This station was opened in 1858, and was at the time one of the largest stations in the country. The Alicante Railway Station has two main medium distance railway lines L1 and L2, and two suburban railway lines called C1 and C2 respectively.
Alicante Railway Station also has a number of long distance trains to destinations all over Spain. These include the Euromed, Alaris, Alvia, Talgo, and Altaria-Talgo trains, which connect this station to cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Figueras, Santiago de Compostela, Valencia, Valladolid, Villena, Vigo and Zamora.
