Erdington sits some 8 kilometres outside of the major English city of Birmingham. The massive tangle of roads known as Spaghetti Junction is in Erdington. In addition to the roads, there are also three canals, two rivers, and two railway lines that meet at the same point!

The Fort Shopping Park is a major shopping area in the locale. There are also several local markets. Fort Dunlop was the home of Dunlop Rubber, which provided a major source of local industrial activity. Whilst there is a small part of the company still in the area, Fort Dunlop is now mainly offices. Several churches make for an interesting visit, and there are also some nice parks to enjoy. Erdington is home to one of the oldest pubs in the Birmingham area. It is called the Lad in the Lane, formerly known as the Old Green Man, and it is located on Bromford Lane.
