Hinckley is a market town in southwest Leicestershire in England. Hinckley has a history going back to Saxon times.
Local places of interest include the site of the bloody Battle of Bosworth. There is a small museum at Ambion Hill and St James’s Church is where many of the dead were buried. Some beautiful old timber-framed knitters’ cottages from the 17th century is the modern day home of Hinckley Museum. There are many interesting exhibits. In the Stoke Golding area one can see one of the county’s nicest medieval churches. A local legend states that one of the graves in the Assumption of St Mary the Virgin Church oozes blood every April. There are two former quarries and several shopping centres in the town. Hinckley is near to an international airport, and has good rail and road access to all over the country.
