Wisbech is a market town and inland port in the English county of Cambridgeshire. It is nestled amongst the Cambridgeshire Fen and the River Nene, a tidal river, runs through the town. The town’s name is thought to come from the Celtic for “on the back of the River Ouse”. A renowned entertainment venue in the town is the Angles Theatre, showing many live plays and productions. Places of interest in Wisbech include Peckover House, the Thomas Clarkson Memorial, St Peter and St Paul Church, St Mary’s Church, Wisbech Park with the Richard Young MP Memorial, Octavia Hill Birthplace Museum, Elgoods Brewery, and the Wisbech and Fenland Museum.
