Mesa Airport also known as Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is a commercial airport situated in the southeastern area of Mesa and around 32 km southeast of Phoenix in Maricopa County, Arizona. Mesa Airport is operated and owned by the Williams Gateway Airport Authority. The airport serves as a focus city for Allegiant Air. Mesa Airport has one passenger terminal and three runways. The airport handled around 1.4 million passengers in 2012. The airport was constructed in 1941 and inaugurated in 1942.
