Gypsum is a municipality and town located in Eagle County, Colorado. Named after the nearby gypsum deposits, this town is a part of northwestern Colorado close to the Rocky Mountains and popular tourist destinations such as Eagle, Glenwood Springs and Vail. The Eagle County Regional Airport falls within the jurisdiction of Gypsum and is used by many skiers traveling to the nearby Vail Mountain.
Gypsum doesn’t offer much in the way of attractions but it does have a number of parks such as the shooting sports park and the Lundgren Theater which provides free concert and movie nights in the summers. One can visit the Vail Mountain and indulge in skiing and hiking. Glenwood Springs is also located nearby and offers attractions and activities such as skiing, white water rafting, mountain biking etc. It also has a large thermal hot springs pool which is the premier attraction of the region.
