Italy Car Rental Tips:
- In many Italian cities, like Florence and Rome, there are many ZLT (Zone of Limited Traffic) areas which also include city historic centers. Non-resident traffic is barred in these areas, so avoid ZLT zones for one wrong turn can lead to heavy fines. Park the car and explore on foot.
- Almost all highway roads in Italy have tolls, have a word with the supplier about what provisions do they offer for toll payments. Usually it is the renter’s responsibility to pay these; tourists are allowed to pay in cash or through their credit cards.

What Insurance Do I Need to Rent a Car in Italy?
All the basic insurances like collision damage waiver, theft waiver and third party liability etc are offered by the suppliers with the deals; they are the basic insurances, for higher coverage you can buy additional insurances at the rental desk.
