Lodi is a town in Northern Italy, Located on the Adda. It was originally a Gallic Settlement, but because of its proximity to Rome (who referred to the city as GausPomponeia), many Gauls were able to obtain Roman Citizenship. Further an important Roan Road ran through Lodi and connected with the Adda River. Lodi's originally settlement was destroyed by the Milanese in 1111, following a fierce battle. The current city sits where Lodi was rebuilt by Frederick Barbarossa, the Holly Roman Emperor, in 1158.
