Car rental eligibility conditions

Here are a few conditions that you will need to fulfill to be eligible to rent cars in Brindisi airport, Italy:

  • Age

To rent a car in Slovenia, the driver must be at least 21 years old, however many suppliers allow even younger drivers to rent but for that they charge a small 'young driver surcharge’; brands charge this fee for all drivers under the age of 25 years. The age requirements for Slovenia vary from supplier to supplier, and different car rental brands quote different age eligibility conditions with different car-types. So read the T&Cs attached with the deal for accurate and updated minimum age requirement.

  • Credit Card

Most of the car rental brands we work with allow only payment through credit cards at the time of pickup. Though that doesn’t mean that there are no suppliers which allow debit card or cash, it is just that such suppliers are few and they offer this option only for selected locations. You can use someone else’s credit card if you don’t have one, but the booking will be made in the card holder’s name and you can add yourself as an additional driver if you wish to drive.

  • Driver’s License (DL)

Any driver with a full and valid driver’s license can drive their rental car in Slovenia irrespective of the fact whether they are residents of US, UK, Canada or Australia. Kindly note that at the time of pick up you should bring your original documents as without it the supplier will not allow you to take the car. Xerox or the digital copies of the DL are not accepted.

  • International Driver’s Permit (IDP)

Possession of an IDP is not a compulsion to rent & drive a car in Slovenia, yet it is advised that if you have it do bring it along. It comes quite handy in case of accidents especially when your DL is not in Roman alphabet & the police are unable to fill the accident form. Have a word with the car rental company and if they say that IDP is required, do bring it along as without it you won’t be allowed to pick the car.
